the North Show Competitions

Take part in Guernsey's biggest summer show. The North Show Competition is open to local exhibitors across livestock, horticulture, floral art, home industries, baking and junior classes. Download the 2026 schedule and enter your class today.

About the competitions

Wander through the marquees to see the North Show Competition in full swing. Admire prize-winning livestock, stunning horticultural displays, spectacular floral art and glass cases of freshly baked cakes, jams, preserves and local produce. Watch the judges in action, see the rosettes awarded, and chat to the Guernsey exhibitors behind every entry. It's a proper glimpse into the island's heritage, open to all North Show visitors at Saumarez Park.

How to enter

To enter, you need to live in the Parish of Castel, St Sampson’s or Vale. 

 

Please read the information below carefully to ensure your entry process runs smoothly.

Submit Your Entry Form

Everyone who enters needs to be a member of the Society. Membership is included when you purchase a two-day wristband.

  • Your membership number is printed on the end of your wristband.

  • Children aged 11 and under can enter free this year.

  • Children will still need a membership number and wristband.

Bring your completed entry form to:

Capelles Community Centre
Saturday 22nd August
Between 9am and 1pm

You can also buy your wristbands at this time.

Entry fees: Adults: £1 per item and Children: 50p per item

Please make sure your form is filled in fully and that you’ve included the correct payment when submitting.

Fill In Your Entry Cards

When you hand in your form, you’ll be given entry cards to take home.

  • Fill in one white card for each item you’re entering.

  • Please complete them fully.

  • If you’d like to donate your item to the auction, don’t forget to mark this clearly on the card.

Bring the completed cards with you when you deliver your exhibits. Place them face down on the table next to your item inside the tent.

Bringing Your Items to the Show

You can bring your exhibits to the tents at Saumarez Park from 6pm on the Tuesday or before 9am on Wednesday morning

All exhibitors will need to leave the tents by 9am on Wednesday so judging can begin.

Vehicle Access

Please enter the park via the La Pouquelah gate (next to the Folk Museum).

  • A one-way system will be in place.

  • Please follow all signs and any directions from Show officials.

  • All vehicles must be out of the park by 9:30am on Wednesday morning.

Judging & Viewing

Judging takes place on Wednesday morning, and there won’t be access to the tents during this time.

The tents will open to the public from 1pm on Wednesday.

Collecting Your Exhibits

You can collect your items after 9pm on Thursday evening. Please don’t remove items before then, as visitors will still be enjoying the displays.
 

Important to note:

  • There is no vehicle access to the park on Thursday evening.

  • Vehicle access will be available on Friday morning.

  • Any items left in the tent after 9am on Friday will be disposed of.

Prize giving (including children’s vouchers and cash prizes) will take place at:

3pm – 5pm
